25 Resorts, Hotels in Boracay Island Secure DILG, DENR Permits

BORACAY ISLAND – The Department of Tourism released the list of compliant resorts and hotels in Boracay Island.

Undeniably, there are lots of hotels and resorts in Boracay Island, one of the most prominent tourist destination in the Philippines. However, it seems that not all of them will be re-opening this October.

For the six-month rehabilitation period following President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s order, the island has been closed from guests and tourists. Department of Environment and Natural Resources Secretary Roy Cimatu spearheaded the rehabilitation.

Previously, the environment secretary has given a go signal to compliant resorts and hotels to accept early reservations. The island is set to be re-opened this October. Many people are excited to witness and experience the new Boracay Island.

Recently, on its social media account, the Department of Tourism posted a photo of the Boracay Bulletin containing the list of compliant hotels and resorts.

Based on the bulletin, there are 25 accommodation establishments that have complied with the DENR and Department of Interior and Local Government permits and clearances. The said resorts and hotels have a total of 2, 063 rooms.

Speaking to ABS-CBN News Channel, DOT Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat has previously clarified that Boracay Island will no longer be a party place when it reopens. Although many are sad over the closure of the island, lots of people understand that it is for the environment.

You and your loved ones may book a flight to Caticlan Airport or Boracay Airport. It is also called Godofredo P. Ramos Airport. A plane travel is the fastest way to get to the island.
